I have been rescued by Jesus, like the man who was beaten and left in the middle of the road. The Good Samaritan helped the man everyone else avoided. Thank you, Lord, for that!
It is not always easy to be in need. Isn’t it easier to give than receive?! Not only did the needy man require help, but it was from an unexpected source, someone different than himself.
Jesus used this parable to teach how to be a neighbor. A neighbor is one who helps another and/or one who needs your help. It may not just be a family member or someone you already know. It may not be someone who looks like you. It is healing to serve. “Lord, reveal opportunities for your service! Give us willing bodies and minds to meet the need(s) in your Name.”
