Isn’t it delightful to receive a surprise card or a wish of good will? An invitation for lunch?

Let’s seek ways to be a good surprise in the life of another. It might simply be leaving extra tip money for a waiter or waitress. Doing a favor for your favorite minister. Simply helping someone who has no ability to repay.

We call it going the extra mile. Hard to believe, but that phrase originated about having a cheerful disposition when something is demanded of us. We “buck up” when someone demands! How dare they?! The Christian way is to respond with kindness. Let us encourage one another in this.

Sometimes simply saying “thank you” is a surprise! My Dad always loved the story of the leper healed by Jesus who returned and gave thanks for the restoration.
