Thinking about Proverbs 27 where the psalmlist sings of not praising oneself but allowing others to do so….
Back-in-the-day, when I “played karate,” I went to a referee training seminar at my dojo.  My Sensei said something I will never forget.  This has stuck in my mind for years……
He reminded us judges to be liberal in awarding points to contestants in karate matches.  “If it looks like a legitimate hit or kick, award the point!”
In life I try to practice this very same concept:  “award” compliments to friends, family, and coworkers as often as is appropriate.  Doesn’t this seem like “schmoozing?”  I think not.
