It is difficult to prepare a gourmet meal when the “house is burning down,” a hurricane is approaching…a loved one is dying. Even in these times we must pray for deliverance. Our God is “Lord” in good times and bad. He understands. He took the form of a human and lived among us. He who bears our burdens has experienced earthly trials.
This reminds me when John the Baptist was in prison at the hands of Herod. Even he (John) sent messengers to confirm that what he had been preaching (Jesus) was for real. His journey was a testimony to all who suffer wrongly for being good and honest. Let us be faithful to the end, whatever that “end” may be!
