Luke 5:16 New Living Translation (NLT)
16 But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.
God himself prayed often on earth. How much more do we need to?
Here is how it goes for me too often: “I have done all I can, I can’t figure this out?! Time to pray…..”
In this busy world, with this information overload, it is not easy to get quiet, to pray, and then to listen. Sometimes a wandering drive or walk helps. Face down and prostrate feels reverent to me.
I think God is satisfied with an ongoing conversation and I would like to share it with him before it is a “crisis” in my mind. With that being said, I think he is happy to hear my requests articulated, gratitude and praises given. I hope that he will extend mercy to me as I have likewise given it to my Brethren and Sistren. Do I have something I need to settle up in my relationship first? God doesn’t like it when I fuss and fight. Other people are his children… just like I am. Prayer is my “face time” with the King!
The “Lord’s prayer” may be a great place for me to start. The 23rd Psalm….
