Psalm 127:2 New Living Translation (NLT)

It is useless for you to work so hard
    from early morning until late at night,
anxiously working for food to eat;
    for God gives rest to his loved ones.

Unless God is doing the work and tasks with you, it’s a waste of time.  He won’t overwork you, He will bring you rest.

As I was studying this verse and the chapter before Psalm 127, I realized this was a song of exiles who were returning to Jerusalem (and it was a Psalm of Solomon).  I think this was a song of repentance and acknowledgement of living in self-will, which was leading the psalmist to “Let Go and Let God!”
Thank you, God for watching over us even times of “diversion” in our lives.  Lord, be with us and our children and help us acknowledge that all good things come from you!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
