Reading through the first book of James, I notice that near the end of the first Chapter, he talks about being in “control” of our tongues.  I believe silence is often the better part of wisdom.  The first chapter of James also teaches effective listening and being “slow to anger.”

In the society of my time, “speaking one’s mind” is a valuable currency that is often cherished as a “right.”  Hmmm….I am learning that wisdom and obedience to God urges one to carefully choose the things I say.  My words are powerful.

“Lord, as I speak, allow me to communicate “life” into my Brothers and Sisters and not condemnation.  You are all-powerful and all-knowing.  Strengthen my faith to the point that I will truly “let go” and let you!”

In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
